Hereford Rotarians feed
African Street Children - Letter from Hillbrow RC

December 1, 2008

Since September 2008, we have issued another R3 000 cheque to the United Sisterhood to buy food.

Two weeks ago we issued a third R3 500 to the Sisterhood. They have requested a cheque tomorrow of another R3 500 because The New Nations school closes on Friday of this week until the second week of January.

The Sisterhood packs food parcels for the pupils to take home to tide them over part of December. We all wish we could do more over the holidays, but this is just not feasible. The United Sisterhood also takes a break over the festive season.

The staff are either volunteers, or on very low stipends, and they are tired after a year of feeding. I have requested photos of the food parcels.

I will communicate again with you before Christmas and give you a full accounting of how the money has been spent.

I requested Hillbrow RC Treasurer, Doug to give details at our meeting.

Thanks again for your friendship, compassion and interest in our feeding project at New Nations School.
